Pickleball – the Fastest Growing Sport in America

I want to share with you what I think is going on with pickleball right now across the U.S. I’ve heard over and over again that pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America, yet to many of my friends the word “pickleball” still conjures up some hilarious combination of pickles with who knows what. Where is the disconnect? If it’s the fastest growing sport in America why do so many people not know what it is?

Best Pickleball Serves: Hard Serve and Snap Serve

In a previous article we mentioned four different pickleball serves: the high soft serve, the power serve, the angle serve and the snap serve. In a different blog post we discussed the spin serve and the backhand serve. In today's blog post we are going to discuss the hard serve and the snap serve.

Best Pickleball Return of Serve Strategies

In earlier blog post, Mastering the Best Pickleball Serves, I wrote extensively about serving strategies including a detailed explanation of various types of serves including the spin serve and the backhand serve. In future posts we’ll talk more about other types of serves, but right now I want to step over the net onto the other side of the court and discuss the strategy for the pickleball return of serve or what’s also known as the pickleball return serve. If the serve is the most important shot in the game, the return of serve is the second most important shot in the game. I’m going to explain why.

Review of the 10 Best Pickleball Paddles on Amazon

Every time I am out on the pickleball courts - whether in Margate, NJ, Livingston, NJ or Delray Beach, FL - I see people using many kinds of pickleball paddles. You look around at the paddles and almost everyone has a different brand or style paddle. You don't see many wood pickleball paddles, that's true; yet you do see some cheap pickleball paddles that are not helping anyone's game. Most, though, are made of graphite or composites and are actually very well-made with characteristics that can be advantageous for most players. Different strokes for different folks!

Use the Pickleball Dink Shot to Win Points at the Net

In past blog posts we talked about the importance of serving as a strategic weapon in pickleball – the backhand serve and the spin serve – and we also discussed the return of service. In this article I am going to focus on a shot called the pickleball dink shot. Now I know the name pickleball dink sounds a bit funny, but if you have played the game you know what it is – or you think you know what it is. Let’s begin by defining the dink shot.

How to Hit a Winning Third Shot in Pickleball

It seems as if every shot we talk about in these blog posts is the most important shot in pickleball. First it was the serve, then the return of the serve and then the dink. Well, now it’s the third shot. How can the pickleball third shot be the most important shot in the game? Keep reading to learn the answer to this question.

Lobster Pickleball Machine Review

After reviewing the Pickleball Tutor ball machine, I decided to take a look at another popular ball machine called the Lobster Pickleball machine. A close friend of mine has one so I was lucky enough to see it in action. The Lobster is an excellent pickleball training aid, and like a tennis ball machine it can be very helpful in practicing your pickleball shots and performing a variety of drills
